INTRODUCTION:
I am Amanda Metcalf, a certified perimenopause and menopause fitness coach with over 26 years of experience as a personal trainer. I’m also a runner, triathlete, and bikini/figure competitor—I absolutely love competition and pushing my body to get better and stronger. But as life went on, things changed.
At 45, as a mom of 5, I found myself facing challenges I’d never experienced before. Sleepless nights, relentless hot flashes, and stubborn belly fat became my new normal. None of my old fitness tricks worked anymore, and I felt like I didn’t even recognize my body. Over-exercising and under-eating were no longer sustainable—I was simply too exhausted.
With my youngest only 5 years old, I knew I needed my body to last—not just survive, but thrive. That’s when I dove deep into learning about fitness during perimenopause and menopause, becoming a certified coach to understand how to regain control of my body. And guess what? It worked. I’m now at my goal weight, back in my favorite jeans, and feeling more confident and incredible than ever before.
